BLACK TONGUE

FACT OF THE DAY

**pepto bismol can turn your tongue black the next day after you take it due to the "separation of bismuth from salicylate, forming bismuth trisulfide (Bi2S3) in combination with the sulfur found in saliva."
(continue below!)

yesterday was a crazy long day for me. all through the afternoon, i began to feel uneasy & nauseous. the only thing i ate that day was a weird veggie sandwich that my dad brought home & i only took a few bites before i threw it away, so i think that might have been the cause. anyways, i was originally suppose to get off at 5pm but i really could not last any longer so i decided to leave an hour earlier from work. when i got home, i decided to take a 1 hour nap & see if i would feel better. when i woke up at 5pm for the Interchapter Poker event at Berkeley that night, i felt a little better but only to find out later on during the time we were there that i really felt crappier. during the time at Berkeley, i felt really bad that i didn`t get to mingle so much, but after an hour nap, i felt a little better & afterwards we met one of Becca`s friend, John. when we left, i dropped off everyone at home & Sharon gave me a pepto bismol chewable tablet to calm my stomach.

when i woke up today, my stomach still felt a bit crappy so i called in sick for work today, even though i felt really bad for doing so. when i woke up at 2pm, i felt a lot better & i decided that i would be okay if i went to tonight`s Brightest Little Stars service project over at Berkeley, since i couldn`t afford to ditch it. when i finished taking a shower, i decided to brush my teeth, but after doing so, i looked at my tongue & saw that it was ALL BLACK!!! oh my gosh.. i was soooo freaked out!! i was so scared that something terribly bad was happening to me!! & thank goodness for GOOGLE because i went to google to find out the cause of why my tongue may be black & one of the main cause was PEPTO BISMOL!!!! yeah... that really calmed me down alot!! so after about 5-10 minutes of constant brushing, my tongue finally looked some what normal!

we made these cute little "babies" for the premature babies at the hospitals & the end results were so cute & heart warming. just knowing that these "babies" are handmade for the premature babies in the hospitals really made me a feel like i am affecting a little baby`s life :]

(refresh if you don`t see the pictures below)

so i made these cute little COOKIE MONSTER cupcakes for our first bake sale fundraiser the past monday for general meeting & the top picture was before i put cookies on them & the bottom picture is suppose to be how they looked like after the cookie in the mouth, but i didn`t get a chance to take a picture of my finish cupcakes afterwards.
